About Us

Hello! I'm Laura, founder of Oak & Bramble Interiors, a bespoke soft furnishings workroom based in Southampton. ​

I specialise in creating beautiful bespoke handmade curtains and roman blinds and also provide help, advice and guidance for colour schemes and choosing the best window treatment for your room.

My journey into creating bespoke soft furnishings began at a young age where I envisaged myself becoming a fashion designer. So for my year 10 work experience I got myself a job working for a local dressmaker and with her help, made my very first dress. 

​

As my education continued I quickly realised that I was much more drawn to Interior Design. I felt excited to create a space with a combination of different interesting fabrics, textures, prints and colours. 

​

I studied Textiles at University, pursuing screen printing and creating patterns for interior settings. I am drawn to colours and textures and enjoy bringing these together within my own home to create a relaxing and interesting space. 

​

Since graduating in 2012, I have had a variety of roles which have very happily led me to this point. I have experience working both as a seamstress in a lovely soft furnishings workroom and as an interior designer for a retail brand. These roles taught me so much and now I am thrilled to have begun the next part of my journey; running my own business and in a field I love!

I am so pleased that I get to work with beautiful fabrics every day and create wonderful soft furnishings. I find so much joy in working with clients, aiding them on their design journey and offering guidance and advice to make those finishing touches perfect and help make their house become their home.
